Temporary disability fund confirms
Temporary disability fund delays payments on sickness and maternity leaves. A similar situation is with those receiving unemployment benefits from the Employment Fund, as reported by Segodnia newspaper.
The Fund argues that the State Treasury does not give them money. In Solomianskyi branch of the Fund in Kyiv sources claim that the documents are sent to the Treasury on time (within 3-5 days) and the money arrive for much longer.
The issue of social payments is controlled by the Minister, all heads of departments report personally to avoid delays with documents, assured the spokesman of the Social Policy Ministry Minister Pavlo Kucher.
First of all cash resources are allocated to the protected articles of the budget (public sector wages, pensions and benefits). Hospital and benefits are not included in that category, so they are paid to the extent of funds available. If there is a big delay, each specific case should be investigated, the press service of the State Treasury replied.
