Document adopted at the regulator’s meeting
National Securities and Stock Market Commission (NSSMC) approved the list of foreign stock exchanges where foreign issuers’ securities must be admitted, if they intend to get access to securities trading in Ukraine. The relevant document was adopted at the Commission’s meeting 10 September, as reported by the NSSMC’s press service.
«The regulator is finalizing normative documents that determine the mechanism of admission of securities by foreign issuers to the domestic stock market. In particular, one of the prerequisites of entering the Ukrainian stock pad is circulation of such securities on a foreign stock exchange included in the list defined by the Commission», Alla Papaika, Director of the Department of corporate governance and corporate finance at NSSMC said.
According to A. Papaika, the list includes 69 foreign stock exchanges, such as Moscow Exchange, NASDAQ OMX, Warsaw Stock Exchange, London Stock Exchange, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing, and others.
Admission of foreign issuers’ securities should expand the list of instruments in the domestic stock market. It should be noted that eligible are only the securities issued by companies with assets in Ukraine, and, if admitted to the domestic stock market, they will be traded on Ukrainian stock exchanges. The initiator of this admission should be the issuer itself.
