According to Ministry of Revenues in January - August 2013 the local budget received 26.15 million UAH tourist tax, 10% more over the same period last year.
Largest tourist tax receipts recorded in the Crimea and Kyiv.
Ministry experts think it quite logical that May-August are the most active period of the tourist season - during these months the Ministry received almost 70% of all revenues from the tourist tax for the eight months of 2013, more than 18.5 million UAH.
Ministry experts recorded the largest tourist tax receipts for May-August 2013 in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea - over 6 million UAH (over a third of the receipts collected in Ukraine), and Kyiv with 2.7 million UAH.
For reference:
As of 1 July 2013 Ministry’s territorial bodies registered almost 8 thousand business entities rendering services on temporary (overnight) accommodation. Over 7 thousand subjects already pay the fee to the local budgets, the rest have not yet started to provide the service but conscientiously legalized their line of business.
