On August 28, Kyiv Pechersk District Court permitted the investigator of the General Prosecutor’s Office to conduct searches in the building, located on 23 Kirilovskaya Str., Kyiv, where 1+1 Media is headquartered, on the case of embezzlement of funds in PrivatBank, according to the court records, EP reports quoting Ukrainian News.
On August 28, GPOU’s investigator applied to court with the request to grant permission on conducting searches in the residential and office building with integrated-attached premises and underground parking with a total area of 1,800 sq.m., which is located in Kyiv, 23 Kyrillovska Str.
This building belongs to Podol Nedvizhimost LLC, in which 1+1 Media Holding and TET Channel are headquartered.
The investigation established that in May 2014, the National Bank and Podol Nedvizhimost concluded the mortgage loan agreement on securing NBU’s claims as the mortgagee under the refinancing agreement dd. 3 March 2009.
The specified building was the mortgaged property under the specified agreement.
During the investigation of the abuse of office and embezzlement of PrivatBank officials, the investigation scheduled the complex commission construction estimation examination, land estimation and trade examination of this building.
For conducting searches in the building, the investigation requested the organization of unimpeded access to the property and the appropriate conditions of work during the examination.
As it was reported, on August 10, NABU Director Sytnyk claimed that NABU conducted economic investigation on the case of embezzlement of PrivatBank’s fund.
On December 21, 2016, PrivatBank became the state property.
As is known, according to the former chairman of PrivatBank Alexander Shlapak, GPOU initiated several criminal proceedings against former directors and owners of the bank under article 218 and 220 of the Criminal Code, namely driving the bank into insolvency.
General Prosecutor Yurii Lutsenko reported that GPOU, NABU and SAPO investigate several cases, related to PrivatBank.
