President Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Transportation Mrs. Jamie Alexander, during which the prospects of participation of U.S. company in Ukrzaliznytsia’s modernization were discussed, the president’s press office informs, Ukrinform reports.
“The President noted the fruitful development of political dialogue between Ukraine and U.S., which effectively contributes to activation of bilateral economic cooperation, including the attraction of leading U.S. companies in Ukraine”, the message says.
During the meeting, the prospects of participation of U.S. company in Ukrzaliznytsia’s modernization, in particular in renewal of the pool of locomotives of the Ukrainian company were discussed.
Poroshenko expressed hope that the further cooperation with General Electric Transportation will contribute to strengthening transport, transit and export potential of our country.
According to him, the strategic cooperation with General Electric Transportation with localization of production in Ukrainian territory will become a breakthrough in bilateral cooperation in modernization of the transport sector of Ukraine.
