The National Bank of Ukraine will prepare a new schedule of capitalization of banks on October 15, NBU’s Deputy Governor Katerina Rozhkova said during the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee for Financial Policy and Banking on Wednesday, EP reports quoting FinClub.
During the meeting, the people’s deputy from BPP Mikhail Dovbenko requested NBU to submit to the committee a new draft schedule of the capital increase of banks up to UAH 500 mln until 2024. His colleagues from the committee supported him.
“After considerable efforts of our committee, we finally agreed with NBU to change the schedule of increase of authorized capital of small and medium banks”, - Head of the Committee Sergei Rybalka said after the session.
NBU’s Deputy Head Katerina Rozhkova specified that they will submit NBU’s draft resolution with a new schedule to the committee until October 15. She publicly stated that within the next few days, they should approve it with IMF.
This means that the banks should have the minimum authorized capital, amounting to UAH 200 mln, by 11 July 2017, and raise it up to UAH 300 mln – by 11 July 2018. NBU will extend the deadline as per the request of banks.
