Ukrzaliznytsia lost UAH 6 bln due to untimely tariff raising for cargo transportation, acting CEO of Ukrzaliznytsia Evgeniy Kravtsov told in the interview to ET.
“The tariff should have been raised by 15% since February. We would obtain UAH 6 bln for this time. We did not raise it, because we could not find compromise”, Kravtsov said.
According to CEO of Ukrzaliznytsia, UAH 6 bln is 6 thousand of freight cars.
“Of course, 15% is not sufficient, but knowing the situation from inside, believe, it is a very big, bloody and difficult victory”, he added.
“If we look at European directives, the tariff should not be regulated. It should precisely calculated and attached to the expenditure. I objectively understand: the rebuilding of the system will need five years or even more”, the company director summarized.
It should be reminded that since October 31, Ukrzaliznytsia raised tariffs for railroad cargo transportation by 15%.
