The Ministry of Healthcare told that the citizens, who will not sign the Declaration on The Primary Medical Aid, will have to independently pay for services of the doctors, according to the press office of the Ministry of Healthcare, Ukrainian News reports.
If the patient signs the respective declaration with the family doctor or therapist, all the services, analyses, tests and medications, which are provided under the state program of medical guarantees, will be 100% free for patients. The ill people will also be able to visit subject specialists by referral from the doctor. Meanwhile, the patient can independently choose the specialist or organization, in which he will receive the service.
Starting from 2019, the visits to specialist doctors, ordered by the family doctor or therapist, will be paid by the National Healthcare Service. The services without doctor’s referral, will be paid only in case of the visit to the gynecologist or psychiatrist. That is why by 2019, everything will operated as per the same principles as now.
If the patient seeks medical advice from the doctors of other specializations without doctor’s referral, he will have to pay for his visit.
