The President and IMF Managing Director coordinated approaches to creation of the Anticorruption Court in Ukraine.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko spoke over the phone with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde, the press office of the President of Ukraine reports on Friday, December 8, Correspondent.net reports.
“Petro Poroshenko and Christine Lagarde coordinated approaches to the creation of the Anticorruption Court in Ukraine, taking into account the relevant initiative of the President as well as ensuring effective activities of anticorruption institutes”, the message says.
It is noted that that the President of Ukraine and the IMF Managing Director encouraged the political forces in the Verkhovna Rada “to demonstrate exceptional responsibility and unite for supporting the draft law on the anticorruption court for its soonest consideration in this year”.
Lagarde ensured that IMF supports the efforts of Ukrainian authorities in fighting with corruption, taking into account the achievements on the way of founding the relevant anticorruption institutes.
Poroshenko informed Lagarde about the progress on the way to reforms in Ukraine.
