Businessman Alexander Yaroslavsky submitted documents to the National Bank for purchasing Prominvestbank (PIB), the informed sources reported to Ukrainian News.
According to the interlocutor of the agency, the documents were submitted to the respective regulatory bodies on December 8.
Alexander Yaroslavsky informed about his plans to purchase Prominvestbank in May.
On July 14, he sent a letter of intention to purchase a bank to the National Bank; however, the documents were not submitted yet.
In September, NBU reported that other investors are also interested in purchasing the bank.
Previously, the National Bank denied Pavel Furs and Maxim Mikitas in purchasing PIB.
As Ukrainian News reported, Prominvestbank was found in 1992 and controlled by Russia’s Vnesheconombank (VEB).
In March, the National Security and Defense Council imposed sanctions against banks with the Russian capital.
As per NBU data, as of October 1, in terms of amount of assets, the bank ranked 13th (UAH 22.4 bln) among 88 operating banks.
