Finance Ministers and Governors of Central Banks of G20 Will Discuss Cybersecurity and Cryptocurrencies
The finance ministers of 22 countries and 17 governors of central banks of G20, which starts working on March 19 in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires, will traditionally discuss the key global economic issues, emphasizing such topics as attraction of private investments in infrastructure as well as the information security, control over cryptocurrency and development of digital financial technologies, which were included in the agenda as per the request of Germany and France, UNN reports quoting the summit’s press office.

Such issues, as the information security and development of digital financial technologies, will be included in the agenda of the meeting of finance ministers and governors of central banks of G-20 countries. The cybersecurity and digitalization of the economy as well as regulation of financial technologies were included in the agenda for the first time at ministers’ level.
According to RF’s deputy finance minister Sergei Storchak, quoted by TASS, the financial regulators will likely agree to stick to current, conservative position.
The summit’s press office also reported that the participants of this meeting will focus on possible long-term risks for financial stability, associated with the rapid development of digital currencies, in addition, the delegates will discuss reduction of the risks, associated with the rapid development and implementation of innovations in in the financial sphere and their effectiveness for the economic growth.
In addition, the participants of the meeting in Buenos Aires will discuss traditional issues concerning the global economy, such as the international financial system, international tax system and financial regulation.
The priority of the current agenda, selected by Argentinian side, will become the discussion of infrastructure funding and influence of its development on the economy and social sphere.
As the summit’s press office reports, the discussion of this question will dwell upon the development of infrastructure, as the new class of assets, which is attractive for investors. Meanwhile, the mobilization of private investments in the infrastructure increases productivity and creates more stable long-term growth.
The meeting of finance ministers and governors of central banks in Buenos Aires will be held as part of the preparation for G20 Summit, which will took place in Argentina’s capital from November 30 to December 1. This year, Argentina presides over G20.
