Investors have been actively selling sovereign securities of Ukraine
The profitability of Ukrainian sovereign and corporate Eurobonds began to grow against the backdrop of massive protests in downtown Kyiv, as PRIME informs.
Sovereign securities issues maturing in 2015-2017 rose on average by 40-60 basis points from last week. According to experts, on Monday, investors, already frightened by political uncertainty in Ukraine, started selling increasingly the sovereign securities of the country after the last riots in Kiev.
UFS analyst Vadym Vedernikov notes that most sales occur in the near area of the yield curve of the sovereign Eurobonds of Ukraine.
«The yield on 10-year dollar-denominated Eurobonds (maturing in 2013) UKRAIN–23, by 1 p.m. (Kyiv time) has increased by 40-50 basis points to about 10.3 % per annum, and the yield of the securities issue to the next maturity (maturing in 2014) UKRAIN-14 makes about 18% to about 16% from the auction on Friday» - he said.
