The Ministry of Social Policy actively works on implementation of full monetization of subsidies from January 1, 2019, Minister of Social Policy Andrei Reva said, the press office of the ministry reports.
“Currently, the process of verification of subsidy recipients is taking place, because last time, people declared their revenues in 2015”, he said.
“If you found 50 ths people, among whom there are the owners of houses with area of over 200 square meters and apartments of over 120 square meters, who purchased cars for 700 ths hryvnias with null income, then the verification might be really needed”, Reva noted.
“The monetization of subsidies signifies money provision to citizens for paying utility bills; that is why we need to ensure the targeting of assistance, so that only those people, who really need subsidy, receive money”, the minister said.
Minister of Social Policy added that a new order of provision of subsidies was aimed at motivating citizens to save energy resources.
“When a man receives money in hands, then the number of saved energy resources will directly influence that amount of assistance, which the person can keep”, Reva explained.
In addition, the minister announced the tightening of responsibility of subsidy recipients.
Reportedly, the Cabinet of Ministers introduced changes to the subsidy program: from the next heating season, those, who hide their income, have large houses or apartments or have disguised employment, will not be able to count on the subsidy.
