The negotiations between Ukraine and Russia under the facilitation of EU regarding the future of gas transit to Europe after 2019 can start in July, Vice President of European Commission Maros Sefcovic wrote in Twitter, UNN reports.
“Time is the precious commodity. I hope to start working with Russia and Ukraine trilaterally in early July. The complex negotiation are ahead”, he wrote.
In comments to Reuters, Shefcovic noted that it is the priority question and Gazprom, as the monopolist, should not leave Ukraine’s economy without revenues.
“If we solve this politically sensible problem, then it will help us to solve other important for Europe questions with Russia’s participation”, he said.
As UNN reported, during the session of X Inter-Parliamentary Assembly Ukraine-Poland in Warsaw, the questions of delivery of liquefied gas to Ukraine were discussed.
