The Ministry of Infrastructure intends to create in Ukraine 50 airports, five of which will be international airline hubs, other 20 – will serve international flights, Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan said during the presentation of the Ukrainian Transport Strategy by 2030, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“In aviation, we see the creation of 50 airports in the whole territory of Ukraine. We do not speak about 50 Boryspil airports – we speak at least about five international hubs, minimum 20 airports, which will maintain international traffic, as well as other 20, which will provide for regions”, he stated.
According to him, the average time, which the road to airport should take from any location of the country, should decrease to 1 hour.
The plan of development of the aviation industry includes the opening of 350 directions for flights from all airports of Ukraine.
It should be reminded that previously Omelyan announced the creation of two new airline companies in Ukraine.
