As per results of the first half year of 2018, the metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine increased metal production, according to operational data, by 5% as compared with the same period of 2017 – up to 9.3 mln tons, Ukrmetallurgprom reported.
“Despite the loss of some capacities on uncontrolled territory, in the 1st half of 2018, the metallurgic enterprises, located on the controlled territory, managed to increase volumes of cast iron, steel and metal production, exceeding the indicators for the same period of the last year”, according to the message.
Thus, for 6 months of 2018, they produced 10.15 mln t of cast iron (108% regarding the same period of 2017, taking into account the operation of enterprises on the tubing string in January-February 2017, or 114% without taking them into account), 10.35 mln t of steel (101%, taking into account the enterprises on the tubing string, or 105% without taking them into account). 9.25 mln t of metal (105%, taking into account the enterprises on the tubing string, or 110% without taking them into account).
It should be reminded that in 2017, the metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine, taking into account two months of operation on the tubing string, decreased steel production by 12% compared with 2016 – up to 21.4 mln t, metal – by 14%, up to 18.4 mln t, cast iron – by 15%, up to 20 mln t.
