The NBU’s resolution of 19.06.2014, under №378
The National Bank of Ukraine’s resolution passed on 19.06.2014 under №378 sets out changes to the Regulation on E-Money in Ukraine. Banka are entitled to render financial services involving electronic money, among other things, this implies conclusion of agent agreements with legal persons as regards:
- distribution of electronic money;
- making e-currency exchange;
- e-devices to top up e-money;
- acceptance of e-money in exchange for cash/cashless funds.
In addition, as explained, the users – natural persons can pay for goods using e-money or remit it to other users – natural persons. The users, natural persons, can transfer e-money to other users’ accounts (natural persons) in the amount of UAH 500 hryvnias a day but not over 4000 hryvnias within a month, via prepaid cards.
The users, business entities, can obtain e-money solely in exchange for cashless funds, and use it only to pay for goods.
The resolution registered with the Ministry of Justice on July 08, 2014 under №784/25561 will come into force on the date it is published in the official gazette.
