Vice Prime-Minister speaks about reforms
Starting from mid- October this year land plots will be sold only through auctions, said Vice Prime-Minister , Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing & Communal Services Volodymyr Groisman in an interview to the “TSN.Week” TV program, the press-office of the ministerial department reports.
“Along with the decentralization reform, there is one more improvement we are going to make, taking into account that the former National Land Committee is accountable to the ministry that I am in charge. From mid-October all land plots in Ukraine – commercial land – will be sold solely through auctions. The point is that we should eliminate corruption that is rather high today. Additionally, we’ll put an end to autocratic decision-making on land plots, as it were before. From now on, such decisions will be passed only after they are agreed with village and borough councils. You cannot even imagine what is happening on those territories“, - said V.Groisman.
Vice Prime-Minister added that the land cadastre will be made public.
“We’ll fill out the land cadastre and made it available to public, for everybody to look it through – this is highly important for transparency in using land resources that has been the source of corruption“, - added Volodymyr Groisman.
