The National Fiscal Service explains
Pursuant to par. 5.8, chapter 5 of the regulation that specifies making cash operations in the national currency of Ukraine, as set out in the resolution of the NBU’s management board passed on December 15, 2004, under No.637, if the enterprise has not set the said limit (irrespective of the reasons), then the cash limit will be regarded to be zero. In this case all cash kept in the cash desks at the end of the business day and not handed over to the bank branch is regarded to be in excess.
Pursuant to par. 2, article 1 of the Decree of the President of Ukraine dd. June 12, 1995, No. 436/95 on penalties arising from cash circulation regulation, in case of revealing excess cash kept at the cash offices, the enterprises will be fined the twofold amount of the excess cash per day.
