The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a rigorous action plan to implement Directive on Deriving License 2006/126/EС of the European Parliament and European Council dd. December 20, 2006, the press-office of the CBU reports.
The said Directive contains uniform requirements for issue of local driving licenses, to be followed by all EU members-states, to ensure mutual recognition in respect of driving licenses, and, consequently, to further enhance free movement of citizens across EU countries and choose the place of residence. The document sets out technical specifications of the European-style driving license, solves an issue of embedding a microchip, stipulates requirements for driver training and issuance of the driving license (age and qualification), as well as their regular substitution.
Some provisions of the Directive specifiy medical check-ups of professional drivers; introduce minimum requirements for basic qualification and training of persons who give exams in driving test, and list minimum requirements with regard to exams.
The provisions of the Directive are to be implemented in Ukraine by November 2017.
