Regulatory documents for the design of building structures shall take effect
Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Dmytro Isaienko announced that Ukraine will adopt Eurocodes - regulations for the design of building structures, informs the Ministry’s press-service.
«Designing under the Eurocodes that consist of 58 parts will be possible after introduction of national annexes that set parameters specific to Ukraine, for example, snow and wind loads. The first set of such annexes is prepared for adoption in the first half year, the rest to be adopted by the end of 2013», said Deputy Minister.
He added that for effective practical application of the Eurocodes it is necessary to deal with a number of issues related to the retraining of engineers-practitioners and equipping students with skills to work under the Eurocodes. «It is necessary to organize theoretical and practical training, supported by appropriate software, educational and reference materials. We also need to organize training workshops for engineers who already work in the construction industry by way of advanced training».
