The European Commission can only propose visa cancellation, but the final decision belongs to EU countries.
On Thursday, April 14, the European Commission can propose to cancel visas for citizens of Ukraine, Reuters reports to RBC-Ukraine.
The edition reminds that after the recent Dutch referendum some doubts have occurred if Brussels will propose to introduce amendments to regulations in order to remove Ukraine from the list of countries, falling under requirements on obtaining visas.
It is noted that negative results of Dutch referendum are not connected with introduction of visa-free regime in Ukraine, but many commentators considered that the unwillingness of EU countries to approach to the eastern border can impact such decision on cancellation of visas.
However, the question remains still open. The European Commission can only propose the cancellation of visas, but the final decision in this case belongs to EU countries.
