The trade and investment mission of the USA supports the reforming strategy of agro-industrial sphere “3+5”, developed by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and is ready to deepen cooperation between two countries in investment sphere, Head of Mission, Deputy US Secretary of Agriculture Michael Scuse said during the meeting with Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kutovoi.
The Head of the Trade and Investment Mission of the USA emphasized that US side upholds firm position on development of bilateral cooperation. The representatives of the Mission also assured the political support of reforms of Ukrainian AIC and expressed readiness for experience exchange in the sphere of investment development of the agrarian sphere.
In his turn Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Kutovoi emphasized the importance of support of small Ukrainian farmers and transfer to deeper processing of agricultural products.
“We should create all conditions for investment cooperation in the sphere of manufacturing AIC products with higher added value, processing industry and organic production”, Taras Kutovoi noted.
The Minister also added that currently it is necessary to adopt the range of draft laws for transparent and effective turnover of agricultural lands as well as to create the mechanism for economic stimulation of those farmers, which are ready to develop land and invest in it for a long period.
It should be reminded that the team of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, headed by Taras Kutovoi, developed the strategic plan of reforming the industry “3+5”. It includes 3 strategically important priorities: state support of farmers, reforming of state enterprises and fair and transparent turnover of land and 5 directions, resulting from them. This is the expansion of sales market, organic and niche crops production, development of rural areas, irrigation and safety of food products.
