Thousands of people will converge on central London today in protest against Britain leaving the European Union.
Demonstrators will gather in Park lane at 11:00 a.m. and march to the square at the Parliament building, Correspondent.net reports.
The organizer of the protest, the King’s College London graduate Kieran McDermott claimed that protesters will demand from the Parliament to “adopt the relevant decision”.
“We can prevent Brexit, refusing from recognizing the results of referendum, and do not press the button of self-destruction”, Independent reports.
More than 34 thousands of social media users have claimed about their participation in this planned event, however, its attendance may differ much.
The Brexit advocates won the referendum, which took place on June 23.
The response of European leaders to the results of referendum became the requirement from London to initiate the procedure of withdrawal from the European Union as soon as possible. As a result of Brexit, the UK may be deprived of some benefits of trade agreements with EU.
Most urban citizens and youth voted for staying in the EU. In London, about 60% voted against the Brexit.
Next day, after referendum results were announced, the petition, requiring revoting, was signed by more than 2 mln people, as of today – 4 mln.
