The postponement is connected with migration problems in Europe, Correspondent.net reports.
EU management continues debates on how to secure Europe from a new uncontrollable flow of migrants, former EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Stefan Fule said in his interview to Sehodnya.
Replying to the question if the postponement is connected with EU fears of Donbass wars, Fule said “Listen, let’s stop these games “Who fears who?” I just want to remind that it took many years for Ukrainian authorities to fulfill all conditions of visa liberalization. And I do not ask them if they feared anything. So this is not the game for “fearing something”.
According to the politician, the migration crisis left “many scars on the European continent”.
Fule continued that in Brussels the debates on how to achieve better control over migration flows are continuing and Ukraine has nothing to do with this.
“This is rather the feedback to migration phenomenon, which we faced. And EU wants to be sure that this will not repeat once again… there will be control mechanisms for it”, the former European Commissioner added.
