The politicians discussed the current condition of Moldavian-Ukrainian relations and prospects of their deepening, Correspondent.net reports.

President of Moldova Nicolae Timofti is confident that the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine should join their efforts for realization of the European vector of development of two countries, he said during the meeting with ex-presidents of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk and Victor Yushchenko in Chisinau, Ukrinform reports.

“We have agreed with former presidents of our countries (the ex-presidents of Moldova Mircea Snegur and Petru Lucinschi) on search for mutual solutions, facilitating rapprochement of Moldova and Ukraine. We should team up for realization of the European vector of development of our countries”, Timofti said.

President of Moldova emphasized that “griefs unite people, and during difficult times, which our countries undergo, we need mutual support and solidarity”.

The ex-presidents of Ukraine, in their turn, stated that the European integration is the only correct way to achieve stability and peace in the region.

Timofti discussed with former presidents of Ukraine and Moldova the current condition of Moldavian-Ukrainian relations and the issues of synchronization of joint actions amid the complex situation in the region.

The parties gave special attention to the issue of regulation of Transdniesterian conflict and the ways of overcoming the crisis in the east of Ukraine.

As it was previously reported, the Moldavian authorities will concentrate on the search for new solutions for Transdniesterian conflict within the united country, where the breakaway region will be given the special legal status.
