During the phone conversation on Monday, November 14, US President-Elect Donald Trump and President of CNR Xi Jinping agreed on ‘the soon meeting’ to discuss relationships between two states. XI Jinping said to Trump that two largest global economies need to cooperate and “there are many spheres, in which the parties can cooperate”, the Chinese state television reports.
On its part, Trump’s Executive Office reported that during the phone conversation, the parties had the “clear sense of respect to each other” and Trump expressed opinion that the leaders of two states will create “the strongest links, which will allow both countries to move forward”.
During pre-election campaign, Donald Trump repeatedly criticized China, accusing of unfair trade practices and threatened to impose 45-percent duty for Chinese import.
However, Chinese mass media gave strong preference to Trump over his rival at the presidential race – Hilary Clinton. In Beijing, Hilary was in the bad graces due to its alleged attempts to hamper China to become one of the global leaders, AR agency reports.
