Barack Obama leaves the White House with the highest approval rating of US outgoing presidents since George Bush Senior. Meanwhile, the Donald Trump’s approval rating on the eve of his inauguration is much lower than the same indicator of his three predecessors. As of today, 58% of US citizens speak positively of Obama, only 40% respondents – of Trump, Finance.ua reports.
It is evidenced by the polled data of the American Institute of Public Opinion Gallup, published on Wednesday, January 17.
The Obama’s popularity peak fell within the time of his entry into office in 2009. Then, his rating was 78% and almost exceeded the current Trump’s indicator. For eight years of Obama’s presidency, his average approval rating was 53%.
Trump assumes the office of US President with the largest anti-rating for the time of measurement of this indicator by Gallup since 1992. 55% US citizens are not happy with the future US leader.
The future first lady Melania Trump is also most unpopular since the beginning of these measurements. Her approval rating and anti-rating are equal and both are 37% each. During the inauguration of her husband in 2009, Michele Obama had positive attitude from 68% Americans. She leaves the White House with the same indicator.
