On Wednesday, US House of Representatives approved Pentagon’s draft budget for 2017 FY, which will particularly provide for imposing the ban on cooperation of the department with Rosoboronexport, RIA News reports.
In general, this document, calculated until late September 2017, provides the allocation of USD 578 billion for military needs. 371 Congressmen voted for it, 48 – against.
«Neither of these funds can be used by the Defense Secretary for conclusion of contracts with Rosoboronexport», as said in the document. It specifies that this ban should be valid until the Russian corporation stops «supplies of lethal military equipment to (the government of) Syria as well as until Russian military forces leave».
US Defense Chief can try to change this directive, if after consultations with the Secretary of State and the Director of National Intelligence he decides that such cooperation serves US interests. He should also convince the dedicated committees of the Congress.
