Minister told about the results of his meeting with Donald Trump.
The USA is ready to join the process of the settlement of situation in Donbass and increase pressure over Russia, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavel Klimkin told during his interview to TSN.Week, Correspondent.net reports.
On May 11, Klimkin visited the White House, where he spoke with US President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Spence. He told about the results of this meeting during the interview to the channel.
“One of the main political signals is the real desire to join pressure over Russia. There are very interesting ideas, but I will be able to tell them later, when we agree it with all our partners”, the minister told.
He noted that every point should be then agreed with Germany and President-elect of France.
Klimkin emphasized that Washington has influence leverages, which should be applied jointly with EU and other G7 countries.
“It can be real political signals. Of course, there are economic leverages of influence, and the sanction is only the expression of what can be applied later”, Minister of Foreign Affairs said.
According to Klimkin, it may refer to the strengthening of the international component in Donbass, the strengthening of OSCE mission, the creation of other mission, which will “really control the occupied territory of Donbass”.
Previously, Trump said that US mass media left the Klimkin’s visit unaddressed.
