The U.S. shares Israel’s fears regarding strengthening Iran’s positions in Syria due to reached ceasefire.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said that the U.S. and Israel are interested that Iran could not strenghten its positions in the south of Syria as the result of ceasefire, RIA news reports.
“U.S. and Israel have common interest that Iran does not strengthen its positions in Syria”, Spicer said commenting the statement of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who spoke against U.S.-Russian ceasefire agreement.
In the meantime, the White House Press Secretary emphasized that he would want to see “productive ceasefire” in Syria. According to him, “it is necessary to continue discussions with the Prime Minister on his fears”.
Previously Netanyahu told at the press conference in Paris that the ceasefire agreement creates conditions for Iranian military buildup in Syria.
