“U.S. companies and investment funds have much interest in Ukrainian privatization. The main thing is that it happens openly, transparently, competitively. Under these conditions, U.S. players were interested in participation in auctions”, Iovanovich reported.
According to her, U.S. companies are interested virtually in all economic sectors; however, they pay special attention to Ukrainian agricultural sector and energy.
Speaking about Ukraine’s advantages over other Eastern European countries, the ambassador told: “Ukraine is a large country with a big well educated population. The country is rich with natural resources; it has a developed industry, which produces valued added goods. This all will create conditions for economic growth. Last year, the Ukrainian GDP started increasing. I hope that this year the growth will continue. People more and more believe in country’s prospects. The more and more part of income remains in their pockets after payment of taxes and purchase of necessities”.
