The U.S. President’s team of homeland security advisors encourages him to deprive the nuclear agreement with Iran of the formal approval of the Administration, Voice of America reports quoting Politico.
The proposed step may allow Trump to signal about the discontent with terms of agreement, but, at the same time, avoid political consequences from the full withdrawal from it.
Donald Trump criticized for long the agreement, concluded by the Administration of Barack Obama with Iran on the nuclear program of this country. According to Trump, the agreement provided Iran with access to considerable financial resources, which allow the country to complete the military nuclear program. In the meantime, Trump claimed that the U.S. did not receive reliable tools for controlling over the progress of the nuclear program.
As Deutsche Welle reports, Trump’s predecessor Barack Obama considered the agreement with Iran as one of key achievements of U.S. foreign policy. Thanks to it, Iran restricted the use of nuclear centrifuge in exchange for the cancellation of international sanctions against this country.
