The investigators of the special counsel Robert Mueller reportedly met with former MI6 officer Cristopher Steele, who provided a “Russian” dossier on Donald Trump to U.S. intelligence services.
The materials of the meeting, which was held last summer, will become a part of materials of FBI investigation of RF interference with U.S. elections, Ukrinform reports quoting CNN.
“The information of Christopher Steele, former MI6 officer, can help investigators to identify if there was any breach of the law during the contacts between the representatives of Trump’s campaign and suspected Russian operatives”, the message says.
According to the sources, U.S. intelligence community stated that it did not take any decision whether Steele’s dossier has any reliable information, but took submitted documents seriously.
The dossier, which leaked to mass media soon after the elections, described alleged ties of Donald Trump with Russian politicians and businessmen, close to authorities. In addition, the documents contained details of Trump’s trip to Moscow for Ms. Universe competition.
