On Thursday, October 26, U.S. imposes sanctions against seven citizens of DPRK and three North Korean companies due to the glaring violation of human rights, including the forced labor and persecution of refugees, as specified in the statement of U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, Correspondent.net reports.
“Today’s sanctions are aimed against North Korean militaries and officials of the regime, who are responsible for glaring violation of human rights”, according to the statement.
The new sanctions list includes the Head and Deputy Head of DPRK’s Military Security Department, First Vice Minister of the State Security, Minister of Labor, General Consul of North Korea, Diplomat from North Korea embassy to Vietnam.
It should be reminded that previously the U.S. approved a new package of sanctions against eight North Korea banks.
