Former Chief Executive Officer of Yahoo Marisa Mayer apologized for two massive hacks of data of this internet company, accusing Russian agents of them, she claimed at the hearings on the growing number of cyberattacks on U.S. large companies, ET reports quoting Reuters.
“As CEO, during whose tenure these hacks happened, I want to sincerely apologize to each of our users”, she said.
“Unfortunately, despite that all out measures helped Yahoo to successfully defend against hacker attacks of private and state-sponsored hackers, the Russian agents hacked into our systems and stole data of our users”, Mayer told.
As reported, all 3 billion accounts of Yahoo users were hacked in 2013, however in last December, the company claimed that more than 1 billion user accounts were hacked then.
As reported, it is not the first hack of Yahoo’s databases. In March 2017, it became known that two FSS agents were involved in the large-scale hacker attack on Yahoo in 2014, which affected at least 500 mln accounts.
