The group of congressmen from U.S. Democratic Party put forward the initiative on initiating hearings on the impeachment of President Donald Trump. Member of the House of Representatives Stephen Cohen stated that five democrats signed its resolution on application of five impeachment articles against the President, Correspondent.net reports quoting Politico.
The democrats consider that Trump violated the Constitution at least five times, when he dismissed FBI Chief James Comey, violated ban on accepting foreign presents and rewards, continues to obtain profit from his business and disrupted the federal judicial system and freedom of mass media.
“We call the House to initiate hearings on the impeachment. It is not the calling for voting. It is the calling for hearings”, Cohen said.
Meanwhile, Cohen noted that he does not expect any positive reaction from the legal committee of the Lower House of the Congress, which acts as one of the affiliates of Trump’s administration.
It should be reminded that in October, U.S. billionaire Tom Steyer initiated campaign on impeachment of President Trump.
