Starting February 6, 2014, the National Bank of Ukraine will increase the refinance rate from 14% up to 19.5%, said Deputy Chief for General Economic Development at the NBU Sergy Nikolaichuk at the press-conference in Kyiv, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports.
“It has been decided to raise the refinance rate from 14% up to 19.5% per annum, and make ensuing adjustment of rates for credit and debit operations. The core reason is growing inflation risks that will be higher in the near term evidencing, firstly, of a considerable uncertainty as regards future events in the east of Ukraine”, - he said.
