President of Ukraine had meeting with Governor of California Jerry Brown, the press-office of the Official Website of the President of Ukraine reports.

The Head of Ukrainian State thanked the Governor for his personal role in strengthening American-Ukrainian relations and implementation of important projects in security sphere, in particular in conducting trainings within the cooperation between the National Guard of Ukraine and the National Guard of California and development of a new patrol police of Ukraine.

During the meeting the President noted that the California was the first to honor the tragedy of the Holodomor (Famine) 1932-1933 in Ukraine and erected the memorial in commemoration of millions of fallen Ukrainians in the Los Angeles’ Grand Park in 1986, which tells the world about the crime of Stalin’s regime.  

Governor of California invited the President of Ukraine to visit USA and familiarize with the economic potential of his state, in particular in hi-tech industry and military-industrial complex.

President of Ukraine noted the huge potential of our country in IT and agricultural spheres and emphasized the high interest of the Ukrainian part in cooperation in specified advanced sphere and attraction of investments from California.

California ranks sixth in the world in terms of economic growth rate (in 2015 the state’s GDP made up about USD 245 bln) and is the global leader in computer industry and the sphere of high technologies. Today, the main offices of the largest IT companies in the world, 18 of which belong to Fortune-500 rating and have the annual aggregate income of about USD 350 bln.
