Minister of Internal Affairs Avakov told about signing an important document.
The representatives of Ukraine and Europol agreed on operational and strategic cooperation, Arsen Avakov wrote in his Facebook.
The Minister noted that he signed the document “on behalf of Ukraine by the order of the President” together with Europol’s director Rob Wainwright.
“The agreement will allow expanding the format of cooperation with Europol considerably and exchanging strategic and technical information, using Interpol’s resources, participating in joint events on the investigation of a wide range of crimes, exchanging operational and personal data”, according to the message.
According to Avakov, “the agreement will become an efficient tool of interaction of the National Police of Ukraine with respective bodies of the European Union”.
“It allows participating in joint police events, exchanging operational information within criminal proceedings, locating persons, involved in committing crimes, conducting the analysis of operational information; creating international joint investigation teams”, Avakov reports.
The information exchange with Europol will be carried out through a dedicated communications circuit, the access to which the Working Apparatus of Ukrainian Bureau of Interpol will obtain, and in the near future, the partners will transfer special equipment and software, which will allow using information resources of the General Secretariat of Interpol in real time, to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
