Ukraine has joined the Protocol amending the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR).
234 people’s deputies voted for the adoption of the relevant draft law, Ukrinform’s correspondent reports.
As Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Anastacia Deeva said during the presentation of the document in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine joined the above-mentioned European Agreement in 2000, and the approval of amendments to the Protocol of Accession will allow bringing the norms of national legislation into compliance with legislative regulations of the European Union in the sphere of delivery of dangerous goods.
In particular, the legislative regulations of Ukraine in the sphere of delivery of dangerous goods will be adapted to the regulations of Directive 2008/68/EC, which provide the necessity of ensuring security during transportation of dangerous goods, including the engagement of different transport vehicles, ensuring the possibility of establishing special security requirements for national and international delivery of dangerous goods within the territory of Ukraine.
The adoption of the law acknowledges the consent of Ukraine to the binding character of the Protocol amending the paragraph A of the first part of Article 1 and the first part and paragraph B of the third part of Article 14 of the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), concluded in Geneva on September 30, 1957, and will ensure bringing the national legislative regulations into compliance with ADR provisions.
