The official, who will demand the document with a seal impression, will be liable to fine from UAH 850 to 1,700.

In Ukraine, today the law №1982-VIII on the introduction of amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the use of seals by the legal entities and individual entrepreneurs came into force.

From today, the mandatory use of seals in the business is cancelled. It should help Ukraine go up the Doing Business rating by two points, 112 Channel reports.

This law excluded any mentions about the mandatory use of a seal from several regulatory acts. From today, the documents are considered valid and reliable, if they are signed by the authorized person.

In addition, the fine, amounting to UAH 850-1,700, is imposed if the official requires the document with the seal impression or notarial certification (the latter – in case, if it is not stipulated by the legislation).

The authors of the legislative initiative added in the explanatory note to the draft law when submitting it to the Rada, that three years ago the transition from the mandatory to voluntary use of seals in business was implemented, which caused much confusion. The regulation about the mandatory use of the seal was replaced not in all regulatory acts, and sometimes the mandatory use of the seal was specified, but not in the case of acceptance of the respective decision of the company.

Therefore, it is difficult for the entrepreneurs to understand when the seal is required, and when – not, and it did not impede the officials to require documents with the seal impression.
