Chernovetsky moved with his family to Georgia. The former Kyiv’s mayor is suspected of the abuse of power.
The court permitted General Prosecutor’s Office investigators to apprehend the former Kyiv’s mayor Leonid Chernovetsky for consideration of the petition on applying preventive measures of remand in custody, General Prosecutor’s Press Secretary Larisa Sargan wrote in Facebook on Wednesday, July 26, Correspondent reports.
She reminded that the Criminal Investigation Department conducts pretrial investigation in the criminal proceeding, on the basis of illegal construction of engineering and transport infrastructure, namely a helicopter platform, on the Parkova Doroga in Kyiv.
It should be noted that on July 14, Chernovetsky was reported suspicions of the abuse of power or office.
The former mayor evades investigation and his location is still unknown.
