The High Justice Court approved the liquidation of local general courts in different regions of Ukraine. The district courts will be created instead of the existing ones.
The question about the liquidation and creation of courts in Odessa will be additionally studied, Yurliga reports.
On 21 December, the HJC approved the relevant decisions № 4235/0/15-17 and № 4236 /0/15-17.
The President should issue the respective orders not later than 31 December 2017.
The guarantees of the judge in case of reorganization, liquidation or termination of the work of the court were fixed by Articles 53, 82 of the Law on Judiciary and Status of Judges.
According to the third part of Article 17 of the Law, the judicature system consists of local courts, appellate courts, the Supreme Court.
The first part Article 21 of the Law stipulates that the local courts are the district courts, which are formed in one or several districts of cities, or in the city, or in the district (districts) and city (cities).
The district, interdistrict, city district, city, regional courts continue to fulfill their powers before formation and start of the activities of the local district court, the jurisdiction of which extends over the relevant territory.
