From 2015, the number of public officials in Ukraine decreased almost by 20%, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated, HB reports.
According to him, it became possible thanks to the law on the state service, which was created with involvement of experience of many states, and included, in particular, the significant reduction of the number of public officials.
Poroshenko also emphasized the necessity of implementing certain steps for regaining the prestige of the public service and overcoming the shortcomings.
“We should ensure the relevant “lifts” in the public service. More should depend on the head of department, chief of staff, head of division”, the President said.
He reminded that this year is the 100th anniversary of the public service in Ukraine – in 1918, Hetman Pavel Skoropadsky implemented important constituent measures to set up the famous corps of the public service of Ukraine.
