The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has enumerated the goods coming from abroad that won’t be levied with the extra duty of 5-10% imposed till the end of 2015 with the view of stabilizing the balance of payments, Forbes reports.
Resolution passed under No63 and posted on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine stipulates that import of medicines used for haemodialysis and cancer treatments, included into the above mentioned list, are tax-free.
In addition, Minister for Finance Natalia Yaresko has noted that the list of critical imports incorporates petrol and other power resources.
“The government has embedded a series of temporary measures to stabilize the payment balance. This means, first of all, the imposition of the duty on import amounting to 10%-5%, except goods of critical imports. And, I’d like to underscore that the duty will not be applied to medicines and power resources, in particular, gas and other goods of high demand. The prices of medicines and petrol will not increase, so there is no reason for becoming agitated in this regard”, – said the Minister.
Significantly, the extra duty on import will be charged till the end of the year.
