The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted the revised version of the law On Licensing the Types of Business Activities (registered under No 0934), which essentially reduces business activities subject to licensing (from 56 up to 30). The procedure for obtaining licenses has been simplified; this envisages also implementation of cutting-edge technologies, the press-office of the Ministry of Economic Development reports.
To sum up, transparent partner relationships between the government and businesses are being built that will enable Ukraine to improve its position on the index set by the World Bank (“ease of doing business” ranking) through forming favourable conditions for promotion and development of entrepreneurship and increasing the country’s attractiveness to foreign investors.
Besides, terminology, nation-wide principles for licensing and licensing procedure are being detailed and clarified, in particular, through simplifying licensing, strengthening oversight of certification bodies, introducing influence measures and using information resources – to ensure government regulation.
