In Ukraine, starting from today, October 6, the State Register of Proprietary Rights to Immovable Property will be opened for free access. The procedure for maintaining the State Register of Rights to Immovable Property can be found on the official site of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine through “Cabinet of e-services”, RBC-Ukraine (РБК-Украина) reports.
Thus, after special user registration-identification on the site in “Cabinet of e-services” the information from the state register of rights will be provided not only on the item of immovable property, but also on the holder of its right, i.e. just knowing the person’s surname anyone can see what apartments, houses, land lots and cars any citizen of Ukraine owns.
Previously the Minister of Justice Pavel Petrenko stated that starting from October 6 the citizens’ access to registers, which are operated by the Ministry of Justice, will be extended.
According to him, primarily this initiative is aimed at data disclosure on properties of state officials.
“Citizens can see what property the state officials own. This is a good anti-corruption control. In the meantime this is the characteristics of transparency and openness of present government and it shows that we are not afraid of civil society”, emphasized Petrenko
