The jury in the federal court of Alexandria, Virginia, in the trial of the former campaign manager of U.S. President Donald Trump Paul Manafort found him guilty on 8 out of 18 counts, UNN reports quoting Bloomberg.
As the agency notes, it refers to five counts, related to the violation of tax legislation, two counts, related to the violation of banking legislation and one - to concealing foreign accounts in the banks. Reportedly, the jurors did not deliver unanimous verdict on other ten counts.
Manafort is the defendant in two court trials – in Virginia and the District of Columbia. In Virginia, he is charged with concealing banking accounts, money laundering and tax fraud, including while working in Ukraine. Currently, the jury discussed the verdict in regard to Manafort.
As UNN reports, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine offered assistance to U.S. law enforcement in investigating the case of former campaign manager of U.S. President Donald Trump Paul Manafort.
