As INTERFAX.RU reports, the Amsterdam District Court decided on May 30, 2018 to seize Blue Stream Pipeline Company B.V. shares, belonging to "Gazprom PJSC, in the lawsuit of Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC. According to the Gazprom’s report, the seizure was also made on the repayment of BSPC's arrears to Gazprom.
"At the moment, in the courts of Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, Gazprom PJSC challenges Naftogaz of Ukraine actions on recognizing and enforcing the arbitration award dated February 28, 2018, including interim measures", according to Gazprom’s report.
On February 28, 2018, the Stockholm Court of Arbitration obliged Gazprom to pay Naftogaz $4.63 billion for undersupplied agreed gas volumes for transit. Taking into account that earlier the court confirmed the debt of the Ukrainian side for gas supplies, totaling $ 2.018 billion, according to the results of two arbitration disputes between the companies for gas supply and transit, Gazprom should pay Naftogaz $2.56 billion. Gazprom appealed the court decision on the gas transit contract and is waiting for appeal, but Naftogaz is taking measures to recover $2.6 billion from Gazprom without waiting for consideration of the complaint.
BSPC B.V. is a joint venture of Gazprom and Italian Eni, dealing with the construction and operation of the offshore gas pipeline to Turkey "Blue Stream".
